After the introduction of the Gutenberg editor (see article: WordPress5 and Gutenberg at a Glance) on December 6th, the third update in just over a month follows.
This ensures that errors in the application are corrected continuously and promptly in order to optimise the use of Gutenberg in everyday life.
WordPress 5.0.3 is a maintenance release that includes 37 bug fixes and 7 performance updates. Here is an overview of the most important ones:
- 15 bugfixes and improvements in the blog editor have been added to bundled themes. Therefore, update your themes to the latest version to allow for improved block editing
- 2 bugs in the internationalization of the blog editor have been fixed
- Some PHP bugs in customizer of new default theme "Twenty Nineteen" fixed
- Some problems with uploading common file types, e.g. CSVs, have been fixed.
Our 1&1 IONOS Managed WordPress-customers receive the new version automatically. Customers who manage their WordPress installation themselves can now install the new version themselves: WordPress Release 5.0.3
