Activating DNSSEC for Your Domain

In this article, we'll show you how to enable DNSSEC support for your domain.

  • To be able to use the function described here, your contract must have the optional Domain Guard extension. You can always add Domain Guard at any time.
  • The desired domain has a DNSSEC-compatible extension.
  • The domain must be assigned IONOS name servers.
  • Log in to IONOS.
  • Select the Domains & SSL category.
  • Click on the domain you want to edit.
  • To view the DNS settings, click on the DNS tab in the horizontal navigation.
  • In the DNSSEC area, click Enable DNSSEC.

To activate DNSSEC for your domain, you will now:

  • Sign your zone.
  • Publish your public signature keys.
  • Generate your DS entry.
