Manually Setting Up Microsoft Exchange 2013 in Outlook 2013 (Windows)
This article explains how to set up your Microsoft Exchange 2013 account manually in Microsoft Outlook 2013. Perform the manual installation if the automatic setup results in errors. If you are using a Microsoft Exchange 2013 account with an existing email address, we recommend that you set up the Microsoft Exchange 2013 account using the Outlook Configurator.
Requirements
- An active Microsoft Exchange 2013 account
- You have Microsoft Outlook 2013 already installed on your PC or laptop

Adding an Outlook Profile
To open the Windows Control Panel, type the word Control Panel in the search bar located in the taskbar. Select Control Panel and press the Enter key.
Alternatively, click Start > Windows System > Control Panel.Make sure the Category display type is selected in the upper right of the Display list.
Click User Accounts.
Click on Mail (32-bit).
Click Show Profiles.
Click Add.
Enter any name for your profile. This information is used to better identify the profile in later use.
Click OK.
Manually Configuring a Microsoft Exchange 2013 Account in Outlook
Select the Manual setup or additional server types option. Then, click Next.
Select Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service and click Next.
In the Server field, enter the server name winhexbeus101.
In the User Name field, type your email address associated with the Microsoft Exchange 2013 account.
Click More settings.
In the Connection tab, enable the Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP option. Then, click Exchange Proxy Settings.
In the Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange field, enter the proxy server 1.exchange.1and1.us.
Enable the Connect using SSL only option.
Enable the Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate: option and enter the proxy server msstd:1.exchange.1and1.us in the input field below it.
Enable the On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP and On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP options.
Make sure that NTLMauthentication is selected in the Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange: field.
Click OK.
In the Microsoft Exchange window, click Apply, and then click OK.
In the Add Account window, click Next. The Email Application window appears.
In the Email Application window, check the displayed user name. To change it (if necessary), click More Options, and then click Use a different account.
Enter the password of your email address associated with your Microsoft Exchange 2013 account. Check the Save credentials option and click OK.
The connection to the server is established. If a connection to the server can be established, the Allow configuring [YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS] server settings for this website window is displayed.
Check the Do not ask about this website in the future option and click Allow.
In the Add Account window, click Finish.
Open Outlook.
Select the Outlook profile that you created for your Microsoft Exchange 2013 account and click OK.
Outlook 2013 will begin downloading your data for the first time. This process can take up to 10 minutes in cases of accounts with a lot of data. You can then begin using your Microsoft Exchange 2013 account.
