Starting on September 14, 2020, a country-specific outgoing mail server (SMTP server) will be required for use with IONOS mail servers.
Below you will find the steps to adjust your outgoing mail/SMTP server settings for the most common email programs. It is not necessary to create a new email account and the settings of your incoming mail server (POP3/IMAP) will not change.
- For customers with IONOS contracts in other countries, different SMTP servers will apply. These can be obtained from the respective help centers.
- After September 14, 2020, sending emails will only be possible via the correct SMTP server smtp.ionos.com.
Click on the menu icon (☰) and select Options > Account Settings. Alternatively, click the email address in the tree on the left and select View Settings for this Account in the Accounts section.
Click the Edit SMTP Server button.
In the field Server name, enter smtp.ionos.com.
Complete your entries with OK.
