Open an SSH Connection to a Linux Server with a Linux Computer

If you use Linux, proceed as follows to establish a SSH connection to your server:

Step 1

Open a terminal (e.g. xterm)

Step 2

Enter the following command in the terminal:

ssh root@< SERVER'S IP ADDRESS>

Upon the first login, the following message appears:

Are you sure you want to continue connecting?
Step 3

Optional: Enter the command yes.

Step 4

Please enter your password.

You will be connected to the server.
