With the Russian army’s invasion of Ukraine, a war has begun right on our doorstep – in a manner and on a scale that we thought we would never see in Europe again.
There is no justification for the Russian war of aggression. Our thoughts are with the Ukrainian people and all those who have to fear for loved ones on the ground.
Many of our colleagues come from Ukraine and have relatives in the region. In particular, we are in close contact with our employees in Poland and Romania, who are in the immediate vicinity of the catastrophic events. They describe events on the ground that leave us shocked. We are proud of our colleagues who are actively involved helping refugees in the border regions.
As a global provider of hosting and cloud services, IONOS is a ‘critical infrastructure’ company. As such, and as an employer with employees from around 60 different nations, and with customers and partners all over the world, we are very aware of our responsibility in these uncertain times. Our security experts are monitoring our systems to detect and stop potential attacks and misinformation.
For many years, we have been using electricity from renewable sources from local suppliers and are independent of Russian electricity suppliers. To support worldwide sanctions on Russia, we are not accepting any new customer contracts from Russia and are also terminating existing relationships with Russian customers. This also applies to business relationships with Russian service providers and suppliers. We are currently reviewing all existing supplier contracts.
Also with regard to the Russian people who are bravely taking to the streets, we hope with all our hearts that this war will come to an end as quickly as possible. May freedom, democracy and humanity win.
Every contribution counts! IONOS is supporting children in the war-torn region through our foundation United Internet for UNICEF.
