Setting up your business address

Valid for AI Receptionist.

Your AI Receptionist needs to know your physical address to properly answer customer questions and figure out where you provide services. By adding your address (using the project_business_address setting), your assistant can tell callers where you are located and calculate your service area. This article shows you how to add your address to the settings.

Note

If you leave this blank or don't provide enough detail, your AI Receptionist won't know your service area. For home service businesses, this means the system cannot automatically create your standard 50-mile service radius, which can lead to incorrect information being given to customers.

Accessing the configuration area

  • Log in to your IONOS account.
  • Click on Menu > AI Receptionist in the title bar. The AI Agent Portal opens.
  • Click on Customer Portal under Actions for the desired receptionist. The Dashboard opens.
  • Click on Settings from the left-side menu.

Defining your business address

Depending on if your business has a single location or multiple locations will determine which setting you need to configure.

  • Type in project_business_address in the provided search field (Search by idn, title, group). The Business Address setting will appear.
  • Type in your complete physical address. Make sure to include the street, city, state, and ZIP code.
  • Click Save to confirm your changes.

Why your address is important

Here is how the AI uses the address you provide:

  • Answering questions: The assistant can easily tell customers exactly where your office is located if they ask to visit.
  • Service areas: For businesses that travel to customers, the system uses this address to automatically create a default 50-mile service zone.

What address to enter

Depending on your type of business, here is the address you should use:

Single location

Enter the complete physical street address of your business (e.g., 100 N 18th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103).

Multiple branches

If you are setting up the AI Receptionist for one specific branch, enter the exact address for the building that this specific bot is helping with.

Call centers or remote offices

If you run a call center or an office that doesn't get in-person visitors, enter the official headquarters address for your company.
