With an anchor (jump) link, you can refer to a specific section on a page of your MyWebsite Now project. This article explains how to create and use anchor links.

The anchor function is not available in all MyWebsite Now plans. If you have any questions about your package, please contact IONOS Customer Support.

Open the MyWebsite Now editor

  • Log in to your IONOS account.
  • In the title bar click on Menu > Websites & Stores.
  • If you have multiple contracts, click on Manage website in the tile with the name of your online project.
    The Presence Suite for this project opens.
  • In the left menu bar of the Presence Suite, select Website > Website Editor. The MyWebsite Now Editor opens in a new window.

Create section anchor

A page of your website project consists of several sections that contain individual elements such as graphics and text. You can use the anchor function to assign a name to a section. The section can be linked to directly via this name.

  • Click on Pagesin the left-hand MyWebsite Now menu bar.

  • To the right of the menu, under Website structure, select the page for which you want to create an anchor.

  • In the left-hand menu bar of the MyWebsite Now editor, select Content.

  • On the selected page, move the mouse over the top left-hand corner of the desired section. A toolbar will appear.

  • On the toolbar, select Elements.

  • Click on the Elements tab and scroll down to the Section Anchor area.

  • Activate the checkbox for Set anchor and assign a name.

  • Complete the anchor with Done.

Note

A section anchor name can only be assigned once per MyWebsite Now page.

Anchor links for texts, headings, images, and buttons

You can find out how to work with content elements in the Help Center article "Adding and editing content in MyWebsite Now ".

To create an anchor link for content elements:

  • In the editing mode of MyWebsite Now, click on an element of the type text, heading, image, or button. A toolbar is displayed.

  • Click on Link > Website in the toolbar. An overview of the existing pages is displayed.

  • Click on the eye symbol to the right of the page name. Available anchors for this page are displayed with an anchor symbol in front of them.

  • Select the desired anchor link.

  • Complete the process with Done.

Anchor links for navigation

You can find out how to create a navigation menu in your MyWebsite Now in the Help Center article "Creating a navigation menu".

To create an anchor for a navigation element:

  • In the editing mode of MyWebsite Now, move the mouse over the desired navigation element.

  • Click on Manage > Custom.

  • Optional: Create a new navigation element via Add.

  • Click on the pencil icon next to an element to display available pages.

  • Click on the eye icon displayed to the right of the page containing the desired jump anchor. Jump anchors available for this page are then displayed with an anchor symbol in front of them.

  • Select the desired anchor link.

  • Complete the process with Done.

Please note that you are creating a customized navigation. This replaces any existing standard navigation.
