Private registration can be enabled upon initial registration of a domain name. However, it can also be enabled and disabled at any time right in your IONOS account.
If you are using private registration for your domain, you must disable it on IONOS's end before starting a domain transfer:
- Go to the Privacy & Contact Details page in the Domains & SSL section of your account.
- Select your domain.
- You can now enable or disable the service as appropriate. If the option is not available, the service is not available for your domain.
It may take a few minutes for the change to take effect.
Private registration must be disabled in order to remove the transfer lock if you wish to transfer your domain name away from IONOS.
