With a catch-all email address, all emails that cannot be assigned to a specific email address are forwarded to a designated email account.

If the sender enters an incorrect or non-existent name before the @ sign, the email will end up in this account. This prevents the loss of important emails. You can set up the catch-all email address as a regular email address after logging in at IONOS . A catch-all email address is created by using an asterisk (*) before @yourdomain.com, such as *@yourdomain.com. The * sign in front of the @ is a placeholder.

For example, if your email address is john@example.com, but someone tries to email you at jhon@example.com or jon@example.com, you can use a catch-all to forward these messages to the correct address instead of having these messages returned as undeliverable.
