Anti-Spam is a software solution that allows users to prevent or restrict the delivery of spam emails. It automatically scans all incoming emails sent to a mailbox (email account).

The scans identify email addresses and IP addresses that are known to be the senders of spam or malware, as well as features that are typical of spam, such as the structure and content of the mail.

The anti-spam solution automatically keeps itself up to date. Once the anti-spam solution identifies an email as spam, it can move it directly to a separate spam folder if desired.

If the user has also set up a blocked senders list (formerly called a blacklist), all incoming emails from the email addresses listed there are automatically treated as spam.
