This article explains how to create a resource in Microsoft Exchange 2019.
To create a resource in Microsoft Exchange 2019, you will first need to create the administrator user for Microsoft Exchange 2019.
The following article explains how to set up the administrator user for Microsoft Exchange 2019:
Log in to the Microsoft Exchange 2019 Administration Tool.
Click the Resource Mailboxes tile.
Click New Mailbox.
Select the settings for your resource.
Give your resource a name.
Enter the desired email address of the resource.
Optionally, you can select the resource type (Room or Equipment mailbox) and set whether calendar conflicts or recurring meetings are allowed.
In the Additional text for automatic reply: field, you can, for example, insert notes about the use of the resource if required.
Depending on the selected resource type, some additional entries are now required. To do this, click on Advanced Options.
Fill in the mandatory fields marked with an asterisk (*) and make the desired optional settings.
If you have selected the Room resource type, for example, you must specify the maximum duration of meetings, the room capacity, and the maximum planning period.
Optionally, you can specify that the room may only be used during working hours.
To complete the setup, click Create Resource Mailbox.
