For Mail Basic and Mail Business
With Anti-Spam you can prevent or limit the delivery of spam emails. Anti-Spam automatically scans all incoming emails in your mailbox. Depending on the configuration you choose, spam emails are either moved to the Spam folder or they are sorted into the Inbox with the note [SPAM?] in the subject.
This article explains how to:
Open Anti-Spam settings
To open the Anti-Spam settings:
Log in to Webmail.
Click on the cogwheel symbol in the blue main navigation at the top right.
Click Anti-SPAM in the navigation bar on the left under Email.
Now you have the option to choose predefined spam protection levels or to configure custom spam protection settings.
Configure Custom Spam Protection Settings
When you configure custom spam protection settings, you should enable the following options to ensure maximum protection against spam emails:
Letterhead Analysis: Letterhead analysis allows you to choose the sensitivity of spam detection according to your needs.
The detection mechanism checks the headers of the received emails. If a received email contains flags that indicate spam, points are awarded for this. These points form the SpamScore. Based on the SpamScore, your received emails are classified as spam or not spam. Criteria are e.g. certain words, a wrong date or an IP address known to send spam.
You can choose between Low, Medium and High settings.
Low: Emails sent or forwarded from IP addresses that have been conspicuous for spam activity are marked as SPAM.
Medium: In addition to the criteria of the Low level, static rules are applied, additional block lists are queried and checksums are created and checked.
High: In addition to the Low and Medium level criteria, a lower threshold is set to classify spam.
Text Pattern Profiler: The text pattern profiler analyzes emails located in the spam folder and can improve the spam detection rate.
Enable Anti-SPAM For Known Spam Servers: This setting appears when you select the Custom spam protection level. If you enable this option, typical spam servers will be detected. In addition, all emails sent to your mailbox from these spam servers will be moved to the Spam folder.
Enable Anti-SPAM For Bulk Mail: This setting appears when you select the Custom spam protection level. If you enable this option, bulk mails with identical content will be detected and moved to the Spam folder.
Safe Senders: In this section you can specify any email addresses from which you want to receive emails.
Blocked Senders: In this section you can specify any email addresses from which you do not want to receive emails.
Open and Move Emails Classified as Spam
In the following article we describe how to open and move emails that have been classified as spam by Spam Protection.
Automatically Move Emails from Wanted Senders to the Inbox
In the following article we describe how to specify email addresses from which emails should be automatically routed into your inbox:
Accessing the Spam Folder with an Email Program
If you check your email through IMAP, the Spam folder is automatically displayed in your email program.
If you check your email through POP3, you can only access the Spam folder in Webmail. In this case, access is not possible with an email program such as Microsoft Outlook.
Have Spam Emails Routed into Your Inbox (POP3)
If you check your emails through POP3 and want to access your spam emails in your email program, you can have the spam emails you receive routed into the inbox. To enable this feature, in Webmail, select the Spam Protection setting Custom and in the Filter Settings section, enable the option to Send with note [SPAM?] in subject (does not work at the same time as the Text Pattern Profiler).
To specify the email addresses from which you do not want to receive email, in the Blocked senders: area, click Show. Then click Add. Enter the email address you want and click Add again.
Disable Spam Report
In the following article we desribe how to disable the spam report.
Enable Spam Report
If you enable the Spam Protection setting Low, Medium or High, you will receive a daily spam report by email. If you select the Custom option, you can select this option after enabling the Move to Spam Folder setting. To receive the spam report, enable the Send Spam Report Daily option.
