This article explains the conditions under which an IONOS invoice can be rewritten and which deadlines must be taken into account.

Note

Invoices can only be rewritten in a few exceptional cases.

Company name has changed

  • Reason for change: The name of your company has changed, e.g. through a name change or change of legal form.
  • Deadline: Within four weeks of the change of name.

The previous invoice is canceled when the name is changed and a new invoice is issued with the updated data.

Oversight at IONOS

  • Reason for change: Your customer data is up to date, but an invoice was issued with the wrong customer data.

The previous invoice will be canceled and reissued with the corrected data.

Difference between invoice and customer number

Please note that this article explains the rewriting of invoices under a customer number. The customer (contract holder) remains the same. The Help Center article "Changing customer data with IONOS" explains how to change your data, e.g. home address or phone number. Please always keep your data up to date, as agreed in the IONOS GTC, section “YOUR ADDITIONAL OBLIGATIONS AND WARRANTIES” (Section 8.1).

If the customer number needs to be completely rewritten, e.g., in the event of the death of the previous contract holder or a change from private to company or association, please read the Help Center article "Information on account ownership changes".
