HiDrive Conflicts (Copy/Creation Failures)

HiDrive creates conflict files/folders when it cannot sync changes automatically. This article explains how to fix this problem.

Causes of Conflicts

  • Content Conflicts: This happens when the same file was changed differently both locally and on another computer.
  • Name Conflicts: Different objects share the same name in the same folder (same path), which can happen, for example, after moving files/folders.

Conflict Resolution

The following options exist for resolving the conflict manually:

  • If the object is currently being accessed by a program, such as an open PDF document, close that program. HiDrive moves the local file to a conflict folder and downloads the version from the HiDrive cloud storage.
  • For name conflicts, name the corresponding files differently in one location.

Other synchronization issues are discussed in the articles File path too long (Windows) and Invalid characters in file or folder names (Windows).
