Please use the “Print” function at the bottom of the page to create a PDF.
Valid for ASP.NET Hosting (Windows Hosting).
This article shows you how to create a profile with your FTPS connection details in the FTP client WinSCP.
- Open WinSCP.
- Click on New Site in the top left-hand corner of the login window, and fill in all the required data.
- Click on Save.
| Input field | Your input |
|---|---|
| File protocol | FTP |
| Encryption |
Recommended: Explicit SSL/TLS Alternative: Implicit SSL/TLS |
| Host name | Your personal server name, which is displayed in IONOS account (e.g. access123456789.webspace-data.io). |
| Port number | 21 (for Explicit SSL/TLS) 990 (for Implicit SSL/TLS) |
| User name | Your FTPS username |
| Password | your FTPS password |
- Enter any name for the connection destination. You can also specify a folder that you have already set up in the webspace of your hosting package. Files will then be transferred to this folder.
- Click OK to save the access data for the FTP connection.
Notes
- We recommend that you do not activate the "Save password" setting, as WinSCP creates a key in the Windows registry and this could possibly be read.
- Make sure to set the passive mode in the FTP connection data in the server manager.
- Under the Transfer settings tab, the number of simultaneous connections should be limited to a maximum of 4 .
