Valid for: IONOS hosting contracts
This article explains what you need to bear in mind when switching hosting providers.
Domains you own
- As a domain owner, you can transfer your domains to another provider at any time. However, if you want to terminate your contract, you must observe its minimum contract term.
- If you terminate a contract without specifying what should happen to its domains, we will cancel the domain registrations once the contract has ended, and any connected websites or email will stop working. Unlike some European registries, such as Nominet, registries for .us, .com, and similar extensions don't contact you to manage the domain. Instead, the domain enters a 30-day Redemption Grace Period, during which you can still recover it for a fee. After that it enters a 5-day Pending Delete period, during which it can't be recovered, and is then released for anyone to register.
