Block storage provides additional storage space that can be used with a cloud server. Each block storage consists of an SSD that can be individually customized to the right size. You can also adjust the size of the block storage at a later time if needed. Since block storage is handled in the same way as individual data carriers, it is suitable to use for saving files, databases or log files, etc. To create block storage, proceed as follows:

You are in the Infrastructure > Block Storage section.

Step 1

Click Create.

Step 2

Enter the desired name for the block storage.

Step 3

Set the size of the block storage using the slider or the  buttons.

Step 4

Select the cloud server to which you want to assign the block storage.

Step 5

Select the desired data center.

Please note: Block storage must be set up separately for each data center. For example, if you have set up a cloud server in a data center in the USA, you can only assign block storage that is hosted in the same data center to this server.

Step 6

Click Create.

The block storage has been created. You must assign the block storage to a server in order to use it. Then adjust the configuration of the data storage medium in your server's operating system.
