The price of our PHP Extended Support is based on the age of the version. Maintenance for older versions is associated with higher costs for IONOS. We charge the following prices:

PHP 4.0: $19.76 per month

PHP 5.2 / 5.4 / 5.5 / 5.6: $15.62 per month

PHP 7.0 / 7.1 / 7.2 / 7.3: $10.19 per month

PHP 7.4: $7.81 per month

If you are using an older PHP version for your website that is no longer supported by the PHP community, and you find it challenging to update the version due to time constraints or lack of expertise (code adaptation, script testing, and website migration), our Extended Support offers a flexible and convenient alternative for you. With IONOS, your website can continue to run safely and stably despite using an older PHP version.

After the PHP community's three-year support period ends, PHP versions reach lose their official support. Users are encouraged to update their scripts and websites to the next higher version to ensure stability, security, and access to a full feature set for their projects.

For those unable or unwilling to update immediately, our PHP Extended Support takes over the last security assistance. Our experts close gaps and provide adjusted PHP packages promptly, preventing outdated versions from becoming gateways for cybercrime.

We will notify you in advance if your website is using an outdated PHP version and offer to move you to our PHP Extended Support. You have the flexibility to switch to the latest PHP version in your Control Center whenever you prefer. You can make this version change either before the introduction of the corresponding PHP Extended Support or afterward, along with canceling the Extended Support feature simultaneously.
